P6 Learning Journey to Sentosa 2016: Day 2 (Part 1)

Dear all,

Thank you for your patience.

For the second day, we started off with an early morning trek up to Mount Faber via Telok Blangah Park and Henderson Wave. Thankfully, the drizzle over the night cleared in the early morning and we were greeted by cool gentle breezes in our trek.

Morning trek up Mount Faber via Telok Blangah Park and Henderson Wave

After making our way to the top of Mount Faber, we were treated to a sumptuous breakfast at the Mount Faber Point Ballroom! What a view as we enjoyed our breakfast.

We were hosted by an alumni of Eunos Primary School, Mr Gedeon!

After our hearty breakfast, we set off to learn more about the history of the Singapore with the beautiful murals at the top of Mount Faber Park!

Mount Faber Park

One of the oldest parks in Singapore, Mount Faber Park is a popular tourist destination, offering visitors a host of activities.

Take a cable car from Mount Faber to Sentosa Island and enjoy the stunning view of the horizon from above. Alternatively, you can gaze through the telescopes at one of the many lookout points that are situated at various sides of the ridge for a panoramic view of the southern part of Singapore and the southern islands. Delve into our nation’s natural heritage at Faber Point, the highest point in the park, where a mural wall depicts scenes of local historical events, and where the tree that was planted during the first Tree Planting Day stands.

Mount Faber is covered by a secondary rain forest. The vegetation on the slope helps to stabilise the terrain besides beautifying the park.

The park is part of the Southern Ridges, which also comprises Telok Blangah Hill Park, HortPark, Kent Ridge Park and Labrador Nature Reserve.

After learning about the history of Singapore, we made our way over to Sentosa via cable cars. We first landed on Sentosa's Cable Car Centre where we learnt more about the Singapore Cable Car Network.

After learning about the Singapore Cable Car, we switched over to the new Sentosa Line to have a bird's eye view of the beautiful island of Sentosa.

After the breathtaking ride, we went for our much anticipated MacDonald's lunch before setting foot into SEA Aquarium for our next learning adventure!
We embark edon a facilitated educational trail that took us on a journey to learn about the amazing variety of marine creatures in S.E.A. Aquarium. We also gained a better understanding of the fascinating behaviours and biology of marine animals. It was certainly an informative and experiential learning journey.

After gaining new knowledge and a newfound appreciation for Singapore's marine conservation efforts, we trooped along four the much anticipated Skyride and Luge!

Stay tuned for Part 2 of this blog to see more photographs of our Learniing Journey!
